VMS integrations

Connect CHEQIT to the video systems you already use.

CHEQIT works alongside supported VMS platforms and direct camera sources. It brings camera inventory, health signals, snapshots, stream checks, and recording context into one monitoring experience, so security and IT teams can manage camera reliability without changing recorders or replacing cameras.

Coverage status

What's live, what's in progress, what's planned.

We prioritise integrations from real customer deployments, camera counts, and operational need. If your VMS is not listed, tell us what you run and how it is deployed.

Available now

Shinobi CE camera health monitoring and direct ONVIF/RTSP camera monitoring.

Use CHEQIT with a supported Shinobi CE installation, or connect supported cameras directly through ONVIF and RTSP. Both paths bring the available camera status, snapshots, streams, and health evidence into the same operator workflow.

Shinobi CE camera health monitoring

Live
Keep inventory currentSynchronise Shinobi monitors automatically, with guarded removal so a failed or empty response cannot delete cameras.
Keep media access protectedUse Shinobi snapshots and live video through CHEQIT without exposing the VMS API key or upstream media URL in the browser.
Review recorded evidenceNavigate bounded archive pages, open video around an incident, and export seekable evidence clips while recordings remain available.
Monitor native health signalsCheck monitor state, API availability, recording continuity, and explicit configured media profiles with bounded polling.

Recorder disk capacity, throughput, SMART health, host clock state, and native alarm workflow are not supplied by the Shinobi connector. Sites that need those checks can add explicitly configured supplemental recorder and ONVIF telemetry; unavailable values are never estimated.

ONVIF and RTSP camera monitoring

Live
Connect cameras directlyUse ONVIF discovery and snapshots plus RTSP stream sampling where the camera and network expose them.
Start without a native VMS connectorMonitor supported camera endpoints directly while retaining the recorder or VMS already used for video operations.

What CHEQIT ingests

The information CHEQIT needs from each video source.

Different video systems expose information in different ways. CHEQIT translates the available source data into a consistent operating view for alerts, evidence, reporting, and remediation.

Inventory & topology

Source dependent
Sites & groupsExisting VMS groups, tenants, or locations where the source provides them.
CamerasCamera names, identifiers, tags, mappings, and placement data where available.
StreamsSnapshot and stream access, plus codec, resolution, and frame-rate metadata where exposed.

Liveness & events

Health signals
Online stateWhether the camera or VMS monitor is reachable after confirmed retries.
Recording continuityRecording-index gaps where supported; configured retention-boundary sampling is undergoing Avigilon validation.
Storage telemetryRecorder or host storage status when the VMS exposes it or the site enables supplemental telemetry.
Device eventsTamper, day/night transitions, and hygiene signals where ONVIF or the VMS provides them.

Detection path

Same experience
Snapshot CVDefault scalable path: blur, darkness, occlusion, tilt, scene change, colour cast.
Stream samplingSelective: freeze, FPS drift, codec change, bitrate drift, timestamp drift.
Network probesOptional TCP connection timing, timing variation and failed probes with bounded budgets; these do not measure video packet loss.
Optional ML enrichmentHard-case classifiers (rain/snow, lens smear) when configured.

For technical teams

How integrations are added without changing the monitoring workflow.

Each integration handles the source-specific details: credentials, inventory, snapshots, streams, liveness, events, and recording metadata. CHEQIT's alerting, evidence handling, policies, and operator workflow stay shared across sources.

What an integration usually handles

Connect and testValidate credentials, scope, and camera access before monitoring starts.
Synchronise inventoryBring cameras, groups, streams, and available metadata into CHEQIT.
Collect health signalsUse the source's own status, event, and recording information where available, and show unsupported facts honestly.
Provide evidence accessResolve snapshots, streams, and archive references without moving video to ORTUS cloud services.
Respect source limitsUse bounded polling, sampling, and retry behaviour appropriate for each VMS or camera estate.
Keep detection consistentFeed CHEQIT's shared degradation checks so operators see the same alert types across sources.
